SULTAN — Nine people were displaced by a house fire in Sultan late Friday night.
The fire in the 12600 block of Trout Farm Road next to the Sultan River started just before midnight, said Fire District 5 Chief Merlin Halverson. By the time firefighters arrived, the fire was fully involved. The modular home was a total loss, he said.
Firefighters from Sky Valley Fire, Snohomish County Fire and Rescue and District 5 were able to stop the fire from extending to nearby residences. Halverson said one neighbor was sure it was going to get his house too. Three engines, two water tenders, an aid unit and a medic unit responded to the fire, according to the chief.
The Red Cross found temporary housing for the nine people who were living in the house when it burned, Halverson said. There were “amazingly” no injuries, he added.
The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire. Halverson said it was possibly a grease fire.
