Alderwood mall restaurant fire contained in ventilation system

LYNNWOOD — Fire broke out early Sunday in the Blazing Onion Burger Co. restaurant in the Alderwood mall.

Firefighters from Lynnwood and Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to the call at 2:30 a.m. and arrived to find flames coming from the roof of the building.

The crews were able to extinguish the fire, which was contained in the ventilation system of the restaurant’s kitchen.

The restaurant was closed at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. There was no estimate of damages Sunday.
