Recycling business applies for a move
A construction debris and recycling company wants to move to a building at 101 E. Marine View Drive in Everett. Busy Beaver Recycling of Mill Creek has put in an application with the city, and people may comment on the application until Tuesday.
An environmental checklist, studies and other information about the project are available for public review at the Everett Planning and Community Development Department, 3200 Cedar St.

Everett: Arc forum set for Oct. 13
The Arc of Snohomish County is sponsoring its annual legislative forum from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Everett Station’s Weyerhaeuser Room, 3201 Smith Ave. This event is an opportunity to meet the candidates running for office and hear their views on supporting people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Mountlake Terrace: Volunteers to count bikes, pedestrians
The city’s looking for people interested in counting the number of bicyclists and pedestrians at key intersections Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This is the first year the city has participated in the Washington State Bicycle and Pedestrian Documentation Project, which provides cities and counties with key information about nonmotorized transportation.

Marysville: School board candidates
The public can meet the four finalists for two open positions on the Marysville School Board from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Monday in the district headquarter’s Strawberry Room, 4220 80th St. NE, Marysville.
After the meet and greet, the candidates will go through public interviews with the board.
Voters can share their thoughts on the candidates with the board after the interviews.
The board plans to discuss who it wants to appoint to the seats in an executive session following the discussion.

Stanwood: Library open house planned
Parents and students in the Stanwood-Camano School District are invited to an open house set for 7 tonight at the Stanwood Library, 9701 271st. St. NW.
Staff at the public library plan to be on hand to give tours, help students find books, demonstrate educational databases and help people sign up for library cards.
The Friends of the Library group plans to offer refreshments and crafts for children.
