Lynnwood: Fire official to lead national board

A new national hazards management association was incorporated last month, and one of Lynnwood’s own will be helping lead it.

Lynnwood Assistant Fire Chief Tod Gates was recently named as the first vice board president for the All-Hazards Incident Management Teams Association, Inc.

The association will help educate incident management teams around the U.S., officials said. Those are the teams that respond to disasters such as wild fires, blizzards and tornadoes. The association will strive to build national standards and enhance the cooperation of national, state and local efforts after disasters.
