Community members find dead body in Edmonds park

EVERETT — Edmonds community members found a dead body in Southwest County Olympic View Park on Thursday evening.

The deceased male was found just before 6 p.m., according to a Facebook post from the Edmonds Police Department. It was unclear how long the body had been there, the post said.

Detectives investigated the scene late into the evening and determined there is no current threat to public safety based on available evidence.

Edmonds police and South County Fire navigated difficult terrain on the north side of Olympic View Drive during the investigation, the Facebook post said.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner responded and will determine the cause and manner of death. Detectives are working with the medical examiner and continuing to investigate. Edmonds police will release more details as the investigation allows, the post said.
