US 2 reopened near Gold Bar after crash

GOLD BAR — A crash closed both directions of U.S. 2 just east of Gold Bar for nearly two hours Wednesday afternoon.

Just after 12:45 p.m., the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office reported the closure at Reiter Road. The crash caused minor injuries, according to the Washington State Patrol. Tow trucks were en route to the crash to clear the highway.

As of 1:30 p.m., traffic was backed up about a half mile and growing, according to the state Department of Transportation.

At 2:35 p.m., the state transportation department announced the crash had been cleared and lanes reopened.
