ARLINGTON — A man killed in a crash east of Arlington on Highway 530 on Thursday afternoon has been identified.

At 12:40 p.m., Washington State Patrol reported a head-on crash involving four cars near 139th Avenue NE, about 5 miles east of Arlington, said trooper Kelsey Harding.

Ryan Gray, of Darrington, had been driving east in a 2003 Chevy Cavalier, when he crashed into the back of a Jeep that was stopped for a left turn, according to the state patrol. The Chevy then crossed into a westbound lane and struck a Ford F-350 head-on, causing the Ford to roll multiple times.

Gray died at Cascade Valley Hospital, troopers said. He was 37.

The driver of the Ford, a Marysville man, 49, was injured. He was being treated at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett on Thursday.

A second Jeep had been westbound approaching the crash scene. That vehicle crossed over eastbound lanes and struck a tree.

The two Jeep drivers did not suffer serious injuries, troopers said.
