You may have seen the long line of women camping out in front of Comcast Arena last month. Nearly 350 people braved the cold for hours to find the wedding dress of their dreams.
The event, organized each year by MOViN 92.5 FM, is known as the Dress Dash. It gives brides the opportunity to find a wedding dress for $150. Anyone who ever shopped for a wedding dress knows what a bargain that is.
Proceeds benefit the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation, a national nonprofit organization granting wishes to breast cancer patients and raising awareness of the disease.
At the end of the Dress Dash, 64 gowns were sold, raising $11,340 for the foundation. Waiting by the Comcast Arena for hours may be grueling, but what a great way to score a wedding dress and help fight breast cancer at the same time.
