LYNNWOOD — A woman in her 70s was transported to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after she was struck by an SUV in a crosswalk on Highway 99, according to Lynnwood police.
The driver initially left the scene but came back and was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence, police spokesperson Joanna Small wrote in an email.
The woman was in critical condition, according to police. Highway 99 was shut down in both directions near the 17400 block while police and medics responded.
