EDMONDS — An Edmonds man is accused of beating his roommate with a baseball bat on Wednesday night.

The 48-year-old victim suffered head injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was released early Thursday.

The suspect, 21, was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree assault. The bat reportedly was studded with nails.

The suspect’s mother had called 911 to report the incident. It happened about 4:40 p.m. in the 21200 block of 80th Avenue W., Sgt. Josh McClure said.

It was not made public Thursday what prompted the argument between the two men.
