U.S. 2 blocked after truck loses 80,000-pound load

INDEX — A jackknifed semi tractor blocked U.S. 2 west of here on Sunday evening.

The semi was westbound on U.S. 2 at milepost 34 about 3:30 p.m. when its load shifted and fell off, causing the driver to lose control and hit the guardrail, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Nobody was hurt, but the highway was blocked for hours in both directions while state transportation crews worked to get the semi off the road.
