EVERETT — The Greater Everett Chamber of Commerce is beginning its efforts to attract more real estate development and businesses to the city, with a program Wednesday aimed at highlighting the economic growth that has occurred over the past several years.
Titled “Everett Rising,” the chamber luncheon will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at 1611 Everett Avenue.
“This event is focused on developers and investors who see Everett as a city on the rise — we’re at a pivotal moment, and those attending want to be at the forefront of that momentum,” said chamber CEO Wendy Poischbeg in an email to the Everett Herald.
The chamber’s pitch, as it puts it in a press release publicizing the event, is that “Everett is entering a new era of growth — and the window to capitalize on it is now.”
The Everett Area Chamber of Commerce first formed in 1892. It survived until 2011 when it merged with other business organizations to form Economic Alliance Snohomish County, a regional organization that represents companies across the county.
In August 2024, the Everett City Council voted to spend $600,000 of America Rescue Act funds to open the new chamber of commerce.
The chamber’s reemergence comes after the city council used $600,000 in federal funds last August to reboot the organization.
Tickets to the event are $45 each and can be obtained through the chamber on its website.
