SNOHOMISH — Fire destroyed a recycling shed attached to the Snohomish Soccer Dome early Thursday morning in downtown Snohomish, officials said.
Witnesses said several juveniles, believed to be ages 12 to 14, were seen running from the area on the 500 block of Maple Avenue around 1:30 a.m.
The building is about a half-block from the Snohomish Fire District 4 fire station downtown.
The fire was extinguished before it could reach the soccer dome’s main building, deputy fire chief Ron Simmons said.
Snohomish County fire districts 3 and 7 from Monroe and Clearview also were dispatched to the scene.
A police dog was not able to track the suspects, Snohomish Police Department Cmdr. Fred Havener said.
The investigation is continuing, he said.
