Celebrate a life

The community is invited to a celebration of Bruce Karr’s life, planned for 1 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Hope Foursquare Church, 5002 Bickford Ave., Snohomish.

Purse auction Friday: A designer purse auction and luncheon is planned for 12:30 p.m. Friday at John’s Grill, 645 Fifth St., Suite 100 in Mukilteo.

It benefits the Happy Paws Farm in Arlington.

Seminar on memory loss: Stillaguamish Senior Center plans to present a free Alzheimer’s Association seminar on early-stage memory loss from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd.

The program is designed for people who are experiencing memory loss or are in the early stages of dementia. Family members are encouraged to attend the seminar with them.

The registration process includes a short phone interview.

School offers free lunch: Darrington School District33A096A8 offers a free lunch program for those up to age 19. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday throughout the summer in the school cafeteria. A craft program also is offered during lunch, which includes a salad bar, soup and sandwiches.
