Learn about college program: Everett Community College’s Ocean Research College Academy offers an open house at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Applied Technology Training Center, 2333 Seaway Blvd. in Everett.

ORCA is an early college program for high school students, who can earn up to two years of college credit free while completing their high school education. Most students graduate with an associate’s degree in addition to a high school diploma.
The program is the only early college academy of its kind in the country.

This event is sponsored by Snohomish County WSU Extension and Master Gardeners. It’s 6 p.m. Thursday at the Granite Falls Library, 815 Galena St., Granite Falls.
Terrace plans disaster drill: Mountlake Terrace offers a tabletop exercise with the Emergency Service Coordinating Agency from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday.
The exercise will take place in the city’s Emergency Operation Center as part of Washington State Disaster Preparedness month.
It’s a good time to review your own response plans and procedures in the event of a disaster.
