Mill Creek renames park in North Pointe

The Mill Creek City Council voted Dec. 5 to name the park in the North Pointe neighborhood Exploration Park.

The name was chosen because of the features the city expects to build. Based on local feedback, the city plans to include a climbing hill with embedded slide, logs, rocks, frog pond and a short tunnel.

The 1.2-acre circular park was dedicated to Mill Creek in 2006. It’s located just west of 35th Avenue SE.

Construction is anticipated to begin by next summer.
