School’s out, library’s in
The Mill Creek Library offers free events for school-age kids while local public schools are closed for conferences.
Monday: Bind your own book to take home.
Tuesday : Follow the antics of animals in “Fiddler in the Forest,” then make your own shadow puppet.
Nov. 7: Make pompom critters with yarn, cardboard and scissors.
Nov. 8: Enjoy folktales by actress and storyteller Eva Abram.
Nov. 9: Make marbled paper, fold origami creatures and do other paper crafts.
All events are at 2 p.m. The library is at 15429 Bothell-Everett Highway.

Cohousing booster to speak
The University of Washington’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute offers a free presentation on “Cohousing,” noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo.

The Everett Steelhead and Salmon Club offers a River Fishing Clinic, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 10 in Floral Hall at Everett’s Forest Park, 802 E Mukilteo Blvd.
Two fishing guides will share what they know about fishing in local rivers, from boat and bank.
Free to attend.
Proceeds from a tackle raffle will benefit the nonprofit.
