Fun run supports scholarships
The Arlington Runners Club’s Gleneagle Community Fun Run, set for Saturday, will benefit the Arlington Dollars for Scholars scholarship program.
Registration begins at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, and the race starts at 10 a.m. at Pioneer Elementary School, 8213 Eaglefield Drive, Arlington. The course winds through the Gleneagle development.

Recycle farm goods this weekend
Farmers can recycle their nursery containers, plastic baling twine, empty hay bale bags and more for free at two agricultural recycling events.
Take goods from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday to the Skagit Farmers Supply Country Store, 8815 272nd St. NW, Stanwood, or from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday to the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe.
Kids can swap for a right-sized bike
A Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop kid’s bike swap will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at 2531 Broadway, Everett.
Trade your child’s bicycle that does not fit for one that does. Sharing Wheels volunteers have refurbished the bikes.
Each child will also get a helmet fitting.
Red Cross aids China after quake
The Red Cross Society of China continues to offer relief operations following China’s devastating May 12 earthquake, according to Bev Walker, director of international serÂvices for the SnoÂhomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
For inquiries about relatives living in China who are Chinese citizens, the Red Cross encourages family members to keep calling or try contacting other family members who live nearby.
