SNOHOMISH — Police are investigating a reported sexual assault after a girl was approached by a man while walking along a trail in Snohomish on Sunday.
She was with three other girls near the 600 block of Avenue A. It was about 5:30 p.m.
A man they didn’t recognize allegedly touched the victim and ran away, said Shari Ireton, a spokeswoman with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
The girls were between the ages of 8 and 12, Ireton said.
A 46-year-old woman who was walking her dog at the time saw the man.
He was described as white, 6 feet tall and about 170 pounds. The suspect had short, dark-brown hair. He was last seen wearing a dark red T-shirt, black basketball shorts, dark sneakers and a black backpack.
