EVERETT — A driver was hospitalized in critical condition Sunday morning after a rollover crash on Pecks Drive that possibly was preceded by gunfire from another vehicle.
The male was found in the turned over Toyota Camry in the 1000 block of Pecks Drive near Evergreen Way by police after 911 calls about the collision around 6:42 a.m., an Everett Police Department spokesman said.
Witnesses told officers they heard and saw gunshots from a pickup truck. Bullet casings were recovered at the scene.
The driver suffered critical injuries and was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. His wounds reportedly were from the crash and not from gunshots, the police spokesman said.
Pecks Drive near Evergreen Way was closed for the investigation by detectives.
