CLINTON — Three people, including two teenage girls, were hospitalized after a head-on crash Sunday night on south Whidbey Island.
A Clinton man, 24, was driving a Dodge Dakota truck north on Highway 525 around 8 p.m. He collided head-on with a Mini Cooper, with two Lake Forest Park girls, 15 and 17, heading south near Cedar Vista Drive, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The collision blocked the highway until after midnight.
Investigators believe alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash, which was under investigation.
The Clinton man was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Charges against him were pending, according to the state patrol.
The Mini Cooper driver, 17, also went to Harborview Medical Center. Her passenger, 15, was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
