He’s not heavy. He’s my brother (and he’s a burglar).

EVERETT — A woman wasn’t impressed when her brother bragged about being on a surveillance video that was broadcast by a local television station. The video was recovered after a break-in at an Everett business on June 27.

The video shows two men outside the business. One man threw a rock through a window. Then the pair went inside and tried to remove a flat screen television from the wall.

Maybe there were too many moving parts. The men couldn’t get the TV off the wall, gave up and fled.

The cops turned the video over to the media. The sister of one of the burglars called police and said she recognized her brother in the video. She told police that her brother had bragged to her about being on television.

Police caught up with the man last week. He admitted to breaking into the business and getting away with nothing. He told the police he is addicted to heroin.

He’s charged with second-degree burglary. He’s a seven-time convicted felon. And no, that track record, and the new charge, won’t qualify him for a life sentence under the state’s three-strikes law.
