High winds in Snohomish County, mountain snow forecast

High winds in parts of Snohomish County and heavy snow in the mountains are forecast tonight and Monday.
The National Weather Service in Seattle issued a wind advisory this afternoon, predicting wind gusts of up to 50 mph late tonight and through Monday evening.
A powerful storm also is expected to bring heavy snow to the Northern Cascades and the Olympics. A winter storm warning was issued starting 4 a.m. Monday through Tuesday morning. Difficult travel conditions in the mountain passes are expected on Monday.
