SEATTLE — Fans of Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain are holding a work party Sunday at a park near the home where he lived in Seattle.

KING reports grunge music fans typically gather at Viretta Park on the anniversary of Cobain’s birthday, and he would have been 44 this Feb. 20.

This year, organizers say they’ll be removing invasive plants and laying down mulch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for future plantings.

Cobain shot himself on April 5, 1994, at the nearby home.
