LAKE STEVENS — A man killed in a Lake Stevens shooting Monday has been identified.
Terrance Moore, 35, was shot by his roommate, who was a longtime Monroe prison guard, around 9 a.m. at the Colonial Garden apartments in the 1700 block of Main Street, according to a report written by Lake Stevens detective Steve Warbis.
Moore died of gunshot wounds, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Wednesday. Court records show he had ties to Island, Skagit and Snohomish counties.
The roommate, Emmanuel Perez, 44, fled the scene, and he was arrested about a block away, according to police. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of domestic violence murder in the second degree.
Perez worked as a corrections officer at the Monroe prison for 14 years, according to the state Department of Corrections. Perez was placed on unpaid administrative leave Monday, prison spokesperson Kristi Webb said Wednesday.
