LYNNWOOD — Police are asking for help investigating a fatal shooting at a Lynnwood park Monday.
Around 10 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at Lynndale Park. The park at 18927 72nd Ave. W is next to Lynndale Elementary School.
Officers found one teenager dead at the scene, who had recently turned 18, Lynnwood Police Chief Cole Langdon said. Three others were wounded. One of the wounded, a minor, remained at the hospital with critical injuries, police reported Wednesday.
Five “males between the ages of 17 and 20” were “involved” in the shooting, according to the police department. Earlier in the week, police had reported four people were involved.
“It’s not lost on me that we only recently made arrests in the tragic murder of two teenagers at Spruce Park,” Langdon said. “I want you to know that your city has a dedicated group of public safety professionals who continue to protect our city, 24/7.”
The shooting was not believed to be gang-related, police said. A silver 2012 Toyota Tundra was taken as evidence, though police did not specify its connection to the shooting.
Detectives requested anyone with information on the truck contact detectives at 425-670-5633.
