A 65-year-old woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle Wednesday afternoon with life-threatening burns after her nightgown caught fire.

She apparently was reaching over a stove while making oatmeal, Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said.

Crews were called around 1:15 p.m. to the mobile home in the 14300 block of Admiralty Way, Hynes said.

The woman’s husband told firefighters he used a spray attachment from the kitchen sink to put the fire out.

There was no damage to the couple’s home.
