A man who admitted producing child pornography in his Lynnwood trailer has been sentenced to 17 1/2years in federal prison for five crimes against children
Anthony J. Weir, 48, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Friday by U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Zilly.
Two of the counts charged that Weir produced child pornography in Lynnwood, involving girls who were 9 and 12 years old. He also pleaded guilty to transferring obscene material to a minor in Ohio, and using a computer and telephone "to persuade, entice, induce and coerce a minor to engage in criminal sexual conduct," according to a statement issued Monday by the U.S. attorney’s office in Seattle.
The fifth count centered on Weir possessing about 200 computer floppy disks containing child pornography. He pleaded guilty to all five counts March 2.
According to court documents, somebody brought the 9-year-old to Weir’s trailer in May 2000. He said he wanted to take some pictures of her for what he described as his "toy Web site." The photos were taken in his bedroom.
Documents said the 12-year-old also was taken to the trailer’s bedroom in June 2000, and "images of child pornography" were taken, according to the U.S. attorney.
About three years ago, Weir met a 13-year-old girl from Ohio on the Internet. "During one conversation, Weir attempted to persuade (the girl) to engage in sexual conduct," the U.S. attorney’s office said.
In September 1999, that girl’s mother discovered a nude photograph of Weir, documents say.
