EVERETT — Police arrested a suspect accused of shooting and killing a man he knew in north Everett.
In the early morning hours Wednesday, Everett police responded to reports of a shooting in the 2000 block of 26th Street, near Broadway.
Police found a man, in his 30s, in the street with a gunshot wound, Everett police officer Ora Hamel said.
Officers began life-saving measures. By the time paramedics arrived around 1 a.m., the man had died.
Police arrested the suspect, a man in his 50s, at the scene. The two knew each other, police said, though their exact relationship was unclear. Police gave no apparent motive for the shooting.
After questioning, police booked the man into Snohomish County Jail for investigation of second-degree murder on Wednesday morning.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will confirm the identity of the deceased, as well as the cause of death.
