Man with knife prompts Everett school lockdown

EVERETT — Police activity in central Everett on Thursday afternoon followed a reported assault, according to officer Aaron Snell, Everett police spokesman.

The commotion started around 12:30 p.m. near Madison Elementary School. Police were told a man was running around with a knife and may have slashed tires in the area.

The school was locked down as a safety precaution, Snell said. No children were in immediate danger.

The incident remained under investigation Thursday evening. Additional details were not available.
