EVERETT — A man was shot in the leg after gunfire at a home east of the Silver Lake area Saturday night.
A woman reported being assaulted and threatened with a weapon by her 67-year-old husband in the 4100 block of 120th Place SE. Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived before 10 p.m. and spoke with an armed suspect. Shots were fired and the suspect was hit in a leg, arrested and taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
An investigation of the shooting is under way by the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team. The group, referred to as SMART, consists of detectives drawn from throughout the county who investigate police use of force. Their completed cases are forwarded to the county prosecutor who conducts a legal analysis of justification.
Four deputies are on administrative leave, which the sheriff’s office said is typical after an officer-involved shooting. They have worked for the sheriff’s office since 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016.
