MARYSVILLE — It’s down to two finalists for the Marysville School District’s new superintendent.

A third finalist, Zak Palsha, director of the Al-Bayan International School in Kuwait, withdrew his application over the weekend.

Palsha decided to remain in Kuwait to complete construction projects at his school, GR Recruiting consultant Kris McDuffy said in a news release.

Peggy Aune, chief innovation officer for Florida nonprofit Champions for Learning, and Zac Robbins, principal of Cheyenne High School in Las Vegas, are still in the running for the job.

Marysville School Board members will discuss a final pick for superintendent in executive session Feb. 22. They will review feedback from Marysville School District residents, families, students and staff collected during the finalists’ visit last week.

McDuffy and Palsha did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
