MONROE — A Marysville woman who died four days after a head-on collision has been identified at Barbara H. Moell.
Moell, 87, died of blunt force injuries to her neck, torso and extremities, according to the Snohomish County medical examiner.
Moell was sitting in the passenger seat of a Chevrolet Malibu on July 4. Her son-in-law, a 64-year-old Marysville man, was driving. They were on U.S. 2 approaching the intersection with Roosevelt Road.
Meanwhile, an Arlington woman, 54, was driving east in a Chevrolet Blazer. Witnesses said she was swerving before she ran a red light to make a left turn. Her Blazer collided with the Malibu.
Police suspect the Arlington woman was driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Moell’s death was ruled an accident, according to the medical examiner.
