EVERETT — A Monroe corrections officer was arrested Tuesday night for investigation of misdemeanor domestic violence.

The man, 26, was accused of assaulting his girlfriend at his apartment off W. Casino Road.

The couple were arguing, and alcohol was involved, according to the arrest report. At some point, the man reportedly put the woman, 28, in a headlock and repeatedly slammed a door on her arms and hands.

He was released from jail Wednesday pending trial.

Everett police notified the man’s bosses at the Monroe Correctional Complex about the incident. Police provided the arrest paperwork Thursday.
