News flash – ferry bid comes in high

Published 1:30 pm Thursday, March 27, 2008

Todd Pacific Shipyards Corp. of Seattle is the apparent low bidder on a contract to construct a 50-car ferry for folks traveling between Keystone on Whidbey Island and Port Townsend.

Todd is also the only bidder.

Just posted the news here. A full story coming tomorrow.

This new boat is to help replace the Steel Electric-class vessels pulled from service on that route last November.
