Officials identify victim of Everett school bus crash

EVERETT — Officials on Friday released the name of the bicyclist who died after crashing into a school bus in north Everett last month.

Steve W. Motari was 62, of Everett, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office. Motari died May 1 from injuries sustained in the April 25 accident.

The crash happened at the intersection of Wetmore Avenue and 35th Street. The bus was carrying Everett High School track athletes, none of whom were injured.

Police initially released the wrong age for Motari. He reportedly ran a stop sign before striking the bus, which had the right-of-way.
