MARYSVILLE — Authorities have released the identity of a man shot and killed by Marysville police last week.
Jeffrey K. Sims, 37, of Marysville, succumbed to gunshot wounds, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
His Sept. 18 death was ruled a homicide. That is a medical determination about the circumstances, not a legal finding.
Police were sent to Sims’ home after his wife called 911. Detectives allege that he tried to stab the woman after officers arrived.
The Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team investigates cases where police use fatal force. Those investigations often take months to complete.
Three officers who were involved in the incident were placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure.
No other new information was released Wednesday.
