Mill Creek: Planners to discuss new project
The plan for a Town Center-style development in the northeast corner of the city is scheduled to be discussed this week by the Mill Creek Planning Commission.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at City Hall at 15728 Main St.
The East Gateway urban Village could be built on 50 acres south of 132nd Street SE between 35th Avenue and Seattle Hill Road. The city must first amend its comprehensive plan to allow a mixed-use development to be built in that area.
People weighed in on the city’s plan for a new urban center during an open house earlier this month. On Thursday, the Planning Commission is expected to address several comments made at the open house.
Planning commissioners may also address other zoning changes that could make the project possible.
The new urban center would likely include a mixture of shops, office space, townhomes, parks and other amenities.
