MARYSVILLE — Highway 529 is set to close between Ebey Slough and I-5 for road work overnight Monday and Tuesday.

Crews contracted by the Washington state Department of Transportation plan to put in a safety barrier to separate northbound and southbound traffic as part of work to build a roundabout.

The closure is scheduled for 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. each day.

The detour will use I-5 and the Fourth Street interchange in Marysville.

Eventually, the project will have new ramps from Highway 529 to both directions of I-5 so drivers can avoid the railroad crossing in Marysville.
