Pedestrian struck and killed on Everett Avenue

EVERETT — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Everett Avenue on Saturday evening.
Everett police and firefighters responded to the incident in the 2400 block of Everett Avenue about 5:10 p.m., according to the Everett Police Department.
The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a man in his 20s, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, said Oral Hamel, spokesperson for the Everett Police Department.
Hamel would not release any other details of the incident, except to say the driver is not expected to face any charges
Following the crash, police shut down both directions of Everett Avenue between Rainier and Baker avenues for about three hours.
