EVERETT — A woman who died this week in the Snohomish County Jail was identified Friday as Denise Jo Huffer, of Everett.
Huffer had been arrested on a warrant in a misdemeanor domestic violence case Jan. 19. At first staff declined to accept her at the jail because of her medical history, but she was later cleared for booking by Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, according to the sheriff’s office.
Authorities were investigating what caused Huffer to collapse at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. A corrections deputy called for aid and performed CPR. Huffer died in her cell. She was 62.
Her identity was released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
