OSO – The bodies of the three people who died Sunday night in a small plane crash near Bald Mountain were airlifted out of the remote area Monday afternoon.
Skagit County sheriff’s Chief Will Reichardt said Brenda L. Houston, 47, and her daughter, Elizabeth M. Crews, 10, both of Enumclaw; and Dr. Virgil Becker, 54, an Auburn physician, were in the rental plane on its way from the San Juan Islands to Auburn Sunday night when it went down.
Houston was an experienced pilot. It’s not clear what caused the plane to go down.
Crews found the wreckage in a rugged, remote area just north of the Snohomish County line near Lake Cavanaugh.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating. They’ll oversee the removal of the wreckage in the coming weeks.
