SNOHOMISH — No one was injured in a close-call collision Saturday when a small airplane overshot the runway at Harvey Field and came up against a car on Airport Way.

There was “minimal damage to the car or aircraft,” according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. There were three people in the airplane: the pilot, a second adult and a child. The driver was alone in the car. All were unharmed.

The airplane was approaching the runway from the north to land around 1:50 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office.

A photo from Snohomish Police shows where the plane took out a stretch of chainlink fence between the road and airport. The plane apparently knocked the fence over onto the car.

Airport Way was closed temporarily.
