Suspicious device in Everett was not a danger, police say

EVERETT — Everett police shut down traffic near the Port of Everett due to a report of a possible explosive device Wednesday morning.

What they found in the 800 block of West Marine View Drive was not a danger to the public, Everett officer Kerby Duncan said. The original report was of a suspected pipe bomb, but experts from the Everett Police Department and Washington State Patrol found it was not a live explosive.

Duncan said the street was closed just after 10 a.m. “out of an abundance of caution.” It reopened a little after 1 p.m.
