MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Police arrested a man accused of shooting at his ex-girlfriend and her child Wednesday at an apartment in Mountlake Terrace.
The Seattle man, 22, showed up to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment around 8 p.m. in the 5400 block of 212th Street SW, according to a police report written by Mountlake Terrace officer Luther Russell.
The man yelled at the woman through the door before firing three rounds, almost striking the woman and her young daughter, Russell wrote. The woman called the police, and the suspect fled the scene.
Investigators arrived to find two bullet holes in the door and one in the wall, according to the report.
Police located the suspect in the 4800 block of 208th Street SW, about half a mile away from the apartment. The suspect was taken to Swedish Edmonds before being transferred to Snohomish County Jail.
Officers were investigating the man for first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and third-degree malicious mischief. The suspect’s former partner reportedly had a restraining order against him that was served in January.
Everett District Court Judge Anthony Howard set bail at $500,000 on Thursday at the prosecution’s request.
The suspect had no felony convictions. He remained behind bars this week.
