EVERETT — A police pursuit ended in a collision after a driver refused to stop for deputies Tuesday in Lynnwood.
Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on suspicion of DUI. However, the driver did not stop and continued southbound on I-5, according to a press release from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies pursued the vehicle to 196th Street in Lynnwood, where it exited the freeway and struck another vehicle at the intersection of 196th Street and Alderwood Mall Parkway. Five people in the vehicle were transported to Swedish Mill Creek as a precaution.
A passenger of the suspect vehicle was also taken to Swedish Mill Creek with non-life-threatening injuries. Collision Investigation Unit detectives investigated the scene.
The driver, a 33-year-old man from Marysville, was taken to Snohomish County Jail after being medically cleared at the hospital. He was booked on suspicion of attempting to elude, driving under the influence (drugs), driving while license suspended and five counts of reckless endangerment, the sheriff’s office said.
