Police seeking suspect in Gold Bar shooting

GOLD BAR — Investigators are asking for the public’s help finding the suspect in a Christmas Day shooting that injured one in Gold Bar.

Around 1:40 a.m. Wednesday, a man, 58, shot another man, 48, during an argument in the 100 block of Croft Avenue, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. The suspected shooter fled on foot. The 48-year-old man was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

Police said the shooting “appears to be an isolated incident between two acquaintances.” What they were arguing about was unclear.

On Thursday morning, investigators identified the suspect as Bryan Waltner. The sheriff’s office advised anyone with information about him to call 911. Information can also be shared with the sheriff’s office tipline at 425-388-3845.
