Edmonds City Council, 7 tonight, Public Safety Complex, 250 Fifth Ave. N. Council members plan to discuss the 2009 City Council retreat.

Everett Planning Commission, 6:30 tonight, planning department hearing room, eighth floor Wall Street Building, 2930 Wetmore Ave. The commission is scheduled to vote on proposed changes to the city’s accessory building standards.

Everett City Council, 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, City Council Chambers, 3002 Wetmore Ave. The council plans to take the first two of three votes needed to add money to a fund to pay $8.4 million for the design and construction of a new animal shelter on Smith Island. The current shelter is expected to be demolished as part of the Everett Riverfront project.

Mill Creek City Council, 6 tonight, City Hall, 15728 Main St. The council is scheduled to discuss mitigating traffic noise on Seattle Hill Road.

Monroe City Council, 7 tonight, City Council Chambers, 806 W. Main St. The agenda includes discussing the council’s goals.

Snohomish City Council, 7 tonight, George Gilbertson Board Room, 1601 Ave. D. An ordinance for truck routes is up for discussion.
