Q: Since finishing the project on Sievers Duecy Road, it is nicely paved and very wide. As you head east past the Phil Johnson ball fields, the road is wide enough for two lanes, but isn’t striped that way. Recently, cars have traveled past me in the outside lane, as though it is a two-lane road. Is it one lane or two?
Ginny Woodhouse, Everett
A: Everett traffic engineer Wayne Wentz said the roadway is not finished.
"Until Rinker Materials finishes the sidewalks, modifies the signal at Hardeson Road and installs the final pavement, this roadway is striped to operate with one lane in each direction," Wentz said. "Drivers who use the (now) striped shoulder to pass on the right are in violation of the law."
