Republican U.S. Senate candidate Dino Rossi is out with a 30-second commercial you can find online, on television stations statewide and below.
It begins with a litle personal biography and then he’s on screen, looking into the camera, explaining why he’s running.
Stylistically, it’s Rossi, vintage 2004. Six years ago, when he faced the camera and spoke like this, it had a positive effect on moderate Democrat and independent voters, the bloc of the electorate which nearly carried him to victory.
Time will tell if it will work in this election.
It certainly is a different tone than in Sen. Patty Murray’s new TV ad in which she labels Rossi “the best friend Wall Street and big banks can buy.”
